There are dozens of scrap yards all over Northern Iraq. We
have a couple in our own neighborhood. Here are just some examples of the
stuff that is laying around. All of these sights have been secured to
prevent their contents from being used in IEDs and we are in the process of
reducing these old weapons.
Piles of 57mm and 120mm artillery shells.
Some of the large bombs with fuzes inplace.
And even larger bombs.
SSG Coryell finds a new toy. This turret was fully functioning. We are going to see if we cant install it onto a Hummer.
Now thats a lot of stuff to be worried about.
